Children are fast learners. By just looking around, their brains are working, and they are learning. By just listening to people converse and watching television, they learn the language. You can always start with simple nursery rhymes that your children are probably familiar with already. They know the tone and pitches of the song, and by following the lyrics, they can exercise their control over the language.

To exercise just how much English language they have learned when they sing English songs, you can make them sing the song without following the lyrics. This also tests their attention span, listening skill and memory.
